Due to the recurring attacks and killings in Jos, Plateau State, who had their homes and properties burnt during the recent attack by gunmen suspected to be terrorists in December 2023. Over 20,000 victims were internally displaced. COFI initiated a 2-day Hope Relief Mission Plateau and medical outreach on behalf of the President and Founder, Rev Chris Oyakhilome Dsc, Dsc in April 2024. COFI provided free medical care which primarily targeted 500 women, 500 children, and 48 pregnant women at the Pilot Science School Bungha IDP Camp, the largest in Mangu LGA, Plateau State, with the relief mission reaching and impacting over 800 families from 83 communities with 144,000 meals provided, food supplies, safe water, medical services, and psychosocial support etc.
Immediate Impact of COFI’s Hope Relief Mission:
Food Supplies: Distributed to 800 families, benefitting 83 communities.
Meals Provided: 144,000 meals delivered across IDP camps.
Safe Water: Ensured access to clean drinking water for displaced individuals.
Medical Outreach: Free medical care for 500 women, and 500 children (including 48 pregnant women), covering health check-ups and treatments.
Psychosocial Support:Counseling services provided to address mental health concerns.
Distribution of ministry materials: including Bibles, Rhapsody of Realities, Healing to the Nations magazines, and children’s resources.
Additionally, ministry materials, including free Bibles, were presented to all government officials in attendance.
